Questions and answers

Is the Amerisun 21" mower worth $349.99?

For a self-propelled gas mower, $349.99 at Lowe's as of November 5, 2026 is a low price. It makes sense if you have a modest lawn and want gas power without paying premium-brand prices. Check that local service and parts are available before buying.

How does it compare with a Honda or Toro self-propelled mower?

Major brands cost more but have wider dealer networks, proven engines and easier parts. The Amerisun undercuts them on price. If long-term reliability and service matter more than the upfront saving, a name brand is the safer pick.

Does it have electric start?

The listed specs show only a 144cc gas engine, with no electric start mentioned. Plan on a pull-cord start and regular maintenance like oil changes and spark plug replacement.

What size lawn is a 21-inch deck good for?

A 21-inch deck suits most suburban lots, roughly a quarter acre or less, and cuts faster than an 18-inch mower. On larger lawns you will make more passes and refuel more often.

Is it self-propelled on hills?

Yes, the self-propelled drive pulls the mower forward, which helps on slopes. The specs don't list variable speed, so expect a single drive speed.

When is the best time to buy it?

Gas mowers usually drop in price in late summer and fall as stores clear seasonal stock. At $349.99 at Lowe's as of November 5, 2026 it is already near the bottom of the self-propelled gas range.

Where is the Amerisun 21" 144cc Gas Self-Propelled Lawn Mower cheapest?
