Is the Baratza Encore good for espresso?

It can grind fine enough, but the 40 settings are stepped, so small adjustments are hard. For espresso, most buyers are better served by a stepless grinder or Baratza's espresso-focused models.

How does the Encore compare with the Encore ESP?

The ESP version adds finer, more tightly spaced settings aimed at espresso. If you only brew drip, pour-over or French press, the standard Encore is enough and usually costs less.

What grind settings does it have?

It has 40 stepped settings, from fine for espresso and moka pot to coarse for French press and cold brew. The manual lists starting points for each brew method.

Can I get replacement parts?

Yes. Baratza sells burrs, hoppers, rings and other parts, and the grinder is designed to be repaired rather than replaced.

When is the Encore cheapest?

It rarely gets deep discounts. The $149.95 price at Walmart as of November 5, 2026 is near the low end of its recent range, so waiting for a big sale usually does not pay off.
