Our take on the Concetta King Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper

The Concetta Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper is a 2-inch firm memory foam topper with a gel infusion meant to pull heat away from hot sleepers. It comes in Twin through King and is CertiPUR-US certified, so the foam meets limits on certain chemicals and emissions. The polyester cover wipes clean rather than washing. It is a budget-friendly way to firm up a soft mattress, but 2 inches of firm foam adds support more than plush cushioning.

Best forHot sleepers who want a cooler surfaceBack and stomach sleepers who need a firmer feelSeniors and adults firming up a too-soft mattressGuest rooms and dorms needing a low-cost upgrade
Pros
  • Gel-infused foam aims to reduce heat buildup
  • Firm feel adds support to soft or sagging mattresses
  • CertiPUR-US certified foam
  • 2-inch profile fits most sheets without a deep-pocket swap
  • Available in five sizes, Twin to King
  • Wipe-clean polyester cover is low maintenance
Cons
  • Firm foam may feel too hard for side sleepers who want pressure relief
  • Only 2 inches, so it won't rescue a badly worn mattress
  • Cover is spot-clean only, not machine washable
  • Memory foam can still sleep warm despite the gel

Questions and answers

Is this topper good for side sleepers?
It can be, but the firm rating means less cushioning at the shoulders and hips. Side sleepers who want pressure relief may prefer a softer topper or a thicker one.
Does the cooling gel really keep you cool?
The gel infusion helps compared with plain memory foam, and many owners report sleeping cooler. It is not active cooling, so a hot room will still feel warm.
Will my sheets fit over it?
At 2 inches thick, most standard sheets still fit. Deep-pocket sheets give more room, especially on a pillow-top mattress.
How do I clean it?
The polyester cover is wipe clean only. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and don't machine wash or dry the foam.
Is it worth it over buying a new mattress?
If your mattress is soft but not worn out, the topper is a cheap way to add firmness. If the mattress sags or has body impressions, a topper won't fix it.
What sizes does it come in?
Twin, Twin-XL, Full, Queen and King.
