Is the Costway 11 lb washer worth it?

For light laundry in a small space with no hookup, it is a cheap way to stop using a laundromat. Expect to wash small loads often and to accept a shorter lifespan than a full-size machine.

How much can it wash at once?

The drum holds about 11 lbs, roughly a few shirts, a small bedding set or a week of underwear and socks. Jeans and towels should be washed in separate small loads.

Does it need a hot-water line?

No. It fills from a faucet, so the wash temperature depends on your tap water. You can add warm water by hand if the faucet allows.

A built-in pump pushes water out through a hose that you place in a sink, tub or floor drain. The drain must be at or below the machine's outlet height.

How does it compare with a full-size washer?

It costs far less and needs no dedicated plumbing, but it washes smaller loads, spins slower and is not built for years of daily family use.

Portable washers like this tend to dip during back-to-school and holiday sales. Check the price history before buying.
