Do I need a box spring with this bed?

No. It is a platform bed, so the mattress rests directly on the frame. A box spring would only add unnecessary height.

What size mattress fits?

It takes a standard queen mattress, which is not included. Check that your mattress is at least 8 inches thick so it sits well above the side rails.

How long does assembly take?

Plan on roughly an hour or more with two people. Tools are included, but laying out the parts first makes the process faster.

Will the frame squeak?

Some owners report squeaks after a few months. Re-tightening the bolts and adding felt pads under the legs usually helps.

How tall is the headboard?

The top of the frame sits about 34.5 inches above the floor. That is tall enough for most standard queen mattresses to lean against.

When is the best time to buy?

Costway runs frequent sales around major holidays and back-to-school season. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.

Our take on the Costway Queen Size Metal Bed Frame with Headboard and Footboard

The Costway Queen Metal Bed Frame with Headboard and Footboard is a platform bed with a metal frame and a wood-surface headboard. It does not need a box spring, and the mattress sits directly on the frame. The headboard top sits about 34.5 inches above the floor, so it gives a queen bed a finished, traditional look. It is a budget-priced frame, and assembly is required with the included tools.
