Our take on the Covers & All Custom Heavy-Duty Clear Vinyl Multipurpose Tarp 20 Mil

A custom-cut clear vinyl tarp, 20 mil thick, made to order in whatever size you specify. It is waterproof, tear-resistant and has grommets plus webbing for tying down, so it works as a patio screen, greenhouse cover, partition or industrial barrier. Clear vinyl at 20 mil is on the heavy side for a see-through tarp, which means better durability but more weight and stiffness than thinner 12 to 16 mil films. It has moderate UV and temperature resistance, so it holds up outdoors but is not a long-term sun-exposed roofing material.

Questions and answers

Is 20 mil clear vinyl tarp worth it over a thinner one?
If the panel takes wind, gets handled, or stays up year-round, yes. At 20 mil it resists tearing and punctures far better than 12 to 16 mil films. For a short seasonal cover, a thinner gauge is cheaper and easier to handle.
Can I use it as a greenhouse cover?
Yes, it blocks wind and passes light, and it is waterproof. UV resistance is only moderate, so expect it to degrade faster than greenhouse polycarbonate or dedicated greenhouse film if it faces full sun all year.
How do I order the right size?
The tarp is custom made, so measure the opening including any overlap for grommets and order that finished size. Check the listing's measuring guide before ordering, since custom cuts usually cannot be returned.
Does it block UV and heat?
It protects against some UV rays but the rating is moderate, not full shade-cloth level. Temperature resistance is also moderate, so avoid pressing it against hot metal or using it where temperatures swing to extremes.
What is included with the tarp?
The tarp comes with grommets and webbing reinforcement along the edges. Tie-downs, rope and frame hardware are not included, so plan on buying those separately.
When is the price lowest?
Custom-cut vinyl is priced by size and thickness, so the price tracks your dimensions more than the season. Compare quotes at a few stores for your exact size before ordering.
