Our take on the Covers & All Custom Heavy-Duty Clear Vinyl Multipurpose Tarp 20mil

The Covers & All Custom Heavy-Duty Clear Vinyl Multipurpose Tarp is a made-to-order 20 mil clear vinyl sheet with grommets and webbing, cut to the dimensions you specify. At roughly 4 by 7 feet (121.92 x 213.36 cm), it is thick enough for patio windbreaks, greenhouse panels, room partitions and industrial curtains while still letting light through. Clear 20 mil vinyl is a niche product, so custom sizing is the main draw rather than price. Pros
  • 20 mil vinyl is stiff and durable for outdoor use

  • Grommets and webbing make it easy to hang
  • Cut to your own dimensions
  • Waterproof and tear-resistant
Cons
  • Custom sizing means higher cost and no returns on wrong measurements

  • Vinyl gets brittle in hard freezes and softens in strong heat
  • Clear film shows scratches, creases and dirt
  • Heavier and less packable than poly tarps

Questions and answers

Is 20 mil vinyl thick enough for a patio enclosure?
Yes. 20 mil is on the heavy side for clear vinyl and is commonly used for patio windbreaks and three-season enclosures. It is not structural, so it still needs a frame or secure tie-downs.
How is this different from a standard blue poly tarp?
It is clear, so it transmits light instead of blocking it, and the vinyl is heavier and more rigid than woven polyethylene. Poly tarps are cheaper and lighter but opaque.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes, the tarp is made to order in the dimensions you specify, with grommets and webbing added. Measure the opening carefully, since custom-cut items are hard to return.
Will it hold up to UV and cold?
UV resistance is rated moderate, so expect gradual yellowing after a few seasons in direct sun. Cold resistance is also moderate; clear vinyl stiffens and can crack in hard freezes.
What is included with the tarp?
You get the cut vinyl sheet with grommets and webbing along the edges. Frame hardware, ties and installation materials are not included.
When is the best time to buy?
Custom vinyl is made to order, so discounts are less predictable than on stock tarps. Compare quotes across sellers and watch for seasonal sales on outdoor enclosure materials.
