Our take on the DEWALT 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless 5-Tool Combo Kit with (2) 2Ah Batteries, Charger & Tool Bag (DCK521D2)

The DeWalt DCK521D2 bundles five 20V MAX cordless tools: a DCD780 drill/driver, DCF885 impact driver, DCS393 6-1/2 in. circular saw, DCG412 4-1/2 in./5 in. grinder and DCL040 LED work light, plus two 2.0Ah batteries, a charger and a contractor bag. It is a starter set for someone who wants one battery platform across drilling, driving, cutting and grinding. The batteries are the small 2.0Ah packs, so runtime is modest for saw and grinder work. Its best new price is $418.93 at Arbor as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is the DCK521D2 worth it over buying tools separately?
Usually yes if you need most of the five tools and have no 20V MAX batteries. Buying the drill, impact driver, saw and two batteries separately typically costs more than the kit.
Are the included batteries enough for the circular saw?
They work but are limited. The 2.0Ah packs suit drilling and driving; for repeated saw or grinder cuts, a 4.0Ah or larger 20V MAX battery is a better match.
Do these tools work with other DeWalt 20V MAX batteries?
Yes. All five tools run on any DeWalt 20V MAX lithium-ion pack, including larger 4.0Ah and 5.0Ah batteries, and the included charger charges them.
What is in the box?
The DCD780 drill/driver, DCF885 impact driver, DCS393 6-1/2 in. circular saw, DCG412 grinder, DCL040 LED work light, two 2.0Ah batteries, a charger and a contractor bag.
Is this kit brushless?
No. These are older brushed-motor models. DeWalt's brushless kits cost more but run longer per charge and are more compact.
When is the price lowest?
Combo kits like this tend to drop around Black Friday, Father's Day and end-of-year clearance. At $418.93 at Arbor as of November 4, 2026, check the price history before buying.
