Pros
  • 60V 9.0Ah battery gives corded-like power for framing cuts
  • 5,800 rpm no-load speed keeps cuts fast in thick stock
  • Brushless motor runs cooler and lasts longer
  • Bevel capacity handles angled cuts without a second tool
  • Dust bag catches some of the sawdust
Cons
  • About 20 lb with the battery, heavy for overhead or one-handed work
  • Only one battery included, so a spare is an extra cost
  • Premium price at $508.00
  • 7-1/4 inch blade limits depth of cut on thick beams

Questions and answers

Is the DeWalt DCS577X1 worth it over a corded saw?
If you cut away from outlets often, the 60V power and 9.0Ah runtime make it a fair substitute for a corded saw. At $508.00 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026, it costs more up front, so it pays off mainly for regular jobsite use.
How long does the 9.0Ah battery last?
Runtime depends on the material, but the 9.0Ah pack is DeWalt's largest 60V size and handles a full framing session of crosscuts. Heavy ripping in wet lumber drains it faster.
What is included in the box?
The kit includes the saw, one 9.0Ah 60V battery, a charger and a 7-1/4 inch saw blade. A dust bag is also part of the saw.
How deep can it cut?
With the 7-1/4 inch blade it cuts about 2-9/16 inches deep at 90 degrees, enough for 2x material and most framing. Depth drops at bevel angles.
Does it use DeWalt's 20V batteries?
No. It runs on DeWalt's 60V Max FlexVolt batteries, and the 9.0Ah pack in this kit is one of them. 20V packs do not fit.
When is it cheapest?
Cordless saw kits usually drop during fall and holiday tool promotions. Check the price history on this page before buying at $508.00.
Where is the Dewalt DCS577X1 cheapest?
At Best Buy, for $508.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Dewalt DCS577X1?
3 stores we checked sell it, including Best Buy, Msc Industrial Supply, Ace Hardware.
