Is the DCS578X1 worth it over a corded saw?

If you cut away from outlets or work on sites where cords are a hassle, the cordless power is close to corded. At $439 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026, it costs more than a basic corded saw, so the value depends on how often you need cordless.

What comes in the box?

The saw, one 7-1/4-inch blade, one 60V 9.0Ah battery and a charger. No dust bag and no second battery.

How long does the 9.0Ah battery last?

Runtime depends on the material, but owners report cutting a large number of framing boards per charge. For all-day work, plan on a second battery.

Does it fit standard 7-1/4-inch blades?

Yes. It uses a 7-1/4-inch blade with a standard arbor, so common framing and finish blades fit.

Can I use my other DeWalt 20V batteries?

No. It runs on the 60V FlexVolt system; 20V Max packs do not fit this saw.

Cordless saw kits usually drop during fall and spring tool promotions and around major holidays. The current $439 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026 is on the high side of its range.

Our take on the Dewalt DCS578X1

The DeWalt DCS578X1 is a 60V Max cordless circular saw with a 7-1/4-inch blade, a 9.0Ah battery and a charger in the box. Its brushless motor spins at 5,800 rpm, and the saw weighs about 16 lb with the battery mounted. It is a full-size framing saw built for cordless work, not a trim saw. At $439 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent price range rather than at a low.
