Is the Mavic Air still worth buying?

Yes if you want a light, affordable 4K drone and do not need long range or a large sensor. Newer DJI models beat it on sensor size, range and obstacle avoidance.

How does it compare with the Mavic Air 2?

The Air 2 has a larger 1/2-inch sensor, OcuSync 2.0 range of about 10 km and longer flight time. The original Air is smaller and usually cheaper.

How long can it fly per battery?

DJI rates it at about 21 minutes per battery in still air. Expect closer to 15 to 18 minutes with wind and aggressive flying.

What is in the Fly More Combo box?

The drone, controller, three batteries, a multi-battery charger, spare props, cables and a carry bag. Check the listing for exact contents.

Does it need a phone to fly?

Yes, the controller holds a phone that runs the DJI GO 4 app for the live view and camera controls. The drone will not fly without it.

Prices for this discontinued model move with remaining stock, and the current best price is already near its recent low. Watch for bundle deals rather than waiting for a seasonal drop.

Our take on the DJI Mavic Air Fly More Combo

The DJI Mavic Air Fly More Combo is a foldable 430 g camera drone with a 4K 12MP camera on a 3-axis gimbal, plus the extra batteries, charger and bag that make up the Fly More bundle. It shoots 4K video and 12MP stills, flies up to 42.5 mph in Sport mode, and links to a controller over 2.4/5.8 GHz Wi-Fi with about 4 km of range. It is a 2018-era model, so its 1/2.3-inch sensor and Wi-Fi link trail newer DJI drones. The latest best price sits near the low end of its recent range, which is typical for a discontinued drone still sold by third parties.
