Is this bed worth it?

It is a budget frame-only option. If you already have a queen mattress and want a simple metal platform, it is a reasonable low-cost pick. If you want a headboard or a finished look, spend more on an upholstered or wood bed.

Does it include a mattress or box spring?

No. It is frame only, so you need to buy a queen mattress separately. Most metal platform frames like this do not require a box spring.

What size mattress fits?

It is a queen frame, so use a standard queen mattress, about 60 by 80 inches. Check the frame's inner dimensions before ordering if your mattress is unusually thick or deep.

Metal frames can develop squeaks as bolts loosen. Tighten the hardware after assembly and recheck it every few months to keep it quiet.

When is the best time to buy?

Bed frames from this brand tend to drop during major sales events and at back-to-school time. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at the first listed price.

Our take on the Ebern Designs Open-Frame Bed

The Ebern Designs Open-Frame Bed is a queen-size metal platform bed sold as frame only, so you supply the mattress. The open-frame design leaves the space under the bed visible and usable for storage, and the metal build keeps it light and inexpensive compared with upholstered or wood beds. It suits renters and guest rooms where a simple, low-cost frame is enough. No current price was given for this listing, so compare it against the brand's other queen metal frames before buying.
