Is the Firmstrong Urban worth it?

For flat, casual riding at $219.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, yes. It is a basic, durable cruiser at a low price. If you face hills or want hand brakes, spend more on a multi-speed model.

Can I ride the Firmstrong Urban on hills?

Only short, gentle ones. It has one gear and weighs 35 lbs, so steep or long climbs are hard work. It is designed for flat beach and city routes.

Does it have hand brakes?

No. The only brake is a coaster brake, applied by pedaling backward. That is fine at cruiser speeds but gives less control than hand brakes on descents.

What size rider fits the Firmstrong Urban?

It is an adult women's cruiser with 26-inch tires and a step-through frame, suited to most riders around 5'2" to 5'10". Check the frame size on the listing before buying if you are at either extreme.

When is the Firmstrong Urban cheapest?

Cruisers usually drop in price in late fall and winter, outside beach season. The current $219.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026 is already near the low end of its range.

Our take on the Firmstrong Urban

The Firmstrong Urban is a single-speed women's beach cruiser with a step-through steel frame, 26-inch tires and a coaster brake. It is built for flat, casual rides on the beach, boardwalk or around town, not for hills or speed. The rigid steel frame and 35 lb weight keep it simple and durable but heavy to carry. At $219.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range, making it a cheap entry into cruiser riding.
