Our take on the Firstgear Hyperion Carbon Helmet

The Firstgear Hyperion is a full-face adventure helmet with a carbon fiber shell, a removable peak and a goggle-friendly eye port. It uses a double-D closure, a moisture-wicking removable liner, emergency-release cheek pads and dual-density EPS. At $118.79 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it sits well below what carbon-shell ADV helmets usually cost. It is ECE 22.05 certified, not DOT, so check that against your local rules.

Questions and answers

Is the Firstgear Hyperion Carbon worth it at $118.79?
For a carbon-shell ADV helmet, yes. That is far below typical carbon prices, and you still get a removable liner, emergency cheek pads and a double-D strap. Check the ECE-only certification against your state's helmet law first.
Does it meet US DOT standards?
The listed certification is ECE 22.05 only. Several states require DOT approval, so confirm before buying if you ride there.
Can I wear goggles with it?

How does the fit run?
It uses an intermediate-oval head shape, which suits most riders. This listing is a 2XL; try on or check the size chart, since shell sizing varies.
