Our take on the Garvee Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Dog Kennel with Wheels

The Garvee Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Dog Kennel is a medium-size crate on casters, 32 inches high and 28 inches wide, built from stainless steel in a black finish. The wheels let you roll it between rooms instead of lifting it, and the steel frame is aimed at dogs that chew or push through wire crates. It is a niche product with limited price history, so compare the current price against other stainless steel crates before buying.

Pros
  • Stainless steel frame resists chewing and bending better than wire
  • Casters make a heavy crate easier to reposition
  • Smooth steel surfaces wipe clean and hold less odor
  • 32-inch height suits medium dogs and gives standing room
  • Black finish looks less clinical than bare steel
Cons
  • Medium size will not fit large or giant breeds
  • Wheels can roll on hard floors unless locked
  • Steel crates are heavier and pricier than wire ones
  • Limited price history makes it hard to judge a good deal
  • No divider or training features listed for puppies

Questions and answers

Will this crate hold a dog that has broken wire crates?
Stainless steel is much harder for a dog to bend or chew through than wire, which is the main reason to choose it. Check the latch and door hardware on arrival, since those are the usual weak points on any crate.
What size dog fits a 32-inch-high, 28-inch-wide crate?
It suits medium dogs that can stand and turn around inside, roughly 30 to 50 pounds depending on build. Measure your dog's height at the head and length nose to tail before ordering.
Do the wheels lock?
The listing does not specify locking casters, so plan on chocking the wheels or placing the crate on a mat if your dog pushes against the door. Locking casters can be swapped in if needed.
Is it easy to clean?
Yes. Stainless steel wipes down with a damp cloth and does not absorb urine or odor the way coated wire and plastic trays can. A removable tray, if included, makes cleanup faster.
How does it compare with a wire crate?
It is heavier and costs more, but it resists chewing and bending and cleans more easily. A wire crate is lighter and cheaper if your dog is not a destructive chewer.
When is the best time to buy?
Watch the price over a few weeks and buy when it sits near the low end of its recent range. Stainless steel crates see fewer discounts than wire crates, so waiting for a big markdown rarely pays off.
