Is the Hisense 55A6H8 worth buying?

At $352.99 at Staples as of November 7, 2026, it is a low-cost way to get a 55-inch 4K Google TV. Expect basic picture quality without local dimming; it fits casual viewing, not a home theater.

Does it have local dimming?

No. The 55A6H8 is an edge-lit LED TV with no local dimming, so dark scenes look washed out compared with sets that dim zones of the backlight.

What smart platform does it run?

It runs Google TV, which includes Chromecast built in, Google Assistant voice search and access to major streaming apps.

Does it support HDMI-CEC?

No. The spec list shows no CEC, so the TV won't automatically switch inputs or power on connected devices through HDMI.

What is included in the box?

The TV ships with its stand and a remote. Check the listing for the exact accessories, since only the TV's core specs are given here.

When is the best time to buy it?

With only one store listing it new, discounts depend on that store's sales. Watch for Black Friday and holiday promotions, when 55-inch 4K TVs usually drop the most.
