Our take on the homfan Twin Metal Daybed Frame

The homfan Twin Metal Daybed Frame is a slatted steel frame that works as a sofa by day and a twin bed by night, sized at 78.8 in long and 41.6 in wide. The included slats mean no box spring is needed, and the open metal build suits small rooms, guest rooms and kids' rooms. It is a budget-tier frame, so expect a basic finish and straightforward assembly rather than premium detailing.

Questions and answers

Do I need a box spring with this daybed?
No. The frame comes with slats, so a twin mattress sits directly on them. Use a standard twin mattress, not a twin XL.
What mattress thickness works best?
A mattress around 6 to 10 inches thick sits well within the frame. Very thick mattresses can sit above the side rails and look unfinished.
Can two adults sit on it as a sofa?
It is a twin frame, so it seats two people side by side but not with much room to spare. It is better suited to one adult or two children.
Is it sturdy enough for daily sleeping?
The metal frame and slats handle daily use for a child or average adult. Check and retighten the bolts after the first few weeks, since loosening hardware is the usual source of squeaks.
What are the assembled dimensions?
It measures 78.8 inches long and 41.6 inches wide. Measure your room and doorways before ordering, because the long frame is awkward to move once built.
When is the price likely to be lowest?
Basic metal daybed frames tend to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Compare the current price against its recent history before buying.
