Our take on the Hotree Electric HVLP Paint Sprayer Gun 800W

The Hotree 800W HVLP Paint Sprayer is a corded electric spray gun with a 1.4-liter cup and a rated flow of about 1 gallon per minute. It is aimed at home and hobby use: fences, furniture, doors and small walls, not production painting. It lists only a horizontal spray pattern, so vertical fan control is limited. The listing carries no NRTL safety certification, which matters for a mains-powered tool.

Best forDIYers painting fences, sheds and garden furnitureHomeowners touching up doors, trim and small wallsHobbyists who want a cheap first spray gun
Pros
  • Large 1.4 L cup means fewer refills on big flat jobs
  • 800 W motor handles thicker paints than small handheld sprayers
  • HVLP design cuts overspray compared with conventional guns
  • Corded power gives steady output with no battery to charge
  • Low price for a full-size spray gun
Cons
  • Only a horizontal spray pattern listed; no vertical or round options
  • No NRTL safety listing, a concern for a 120 V mains tool
  • 21 V spec is inconsistent with a corded 800 W tool
  • 1 gpm flow is fast and can cause runs on thin finishes
  • Thinning and cleanup take time on a budget gun

Questions and answers

Is the Hotree 800W sprayer worth it for a beginner?
For fences, sheds and rough outdoor furniture it is a cheap way to start. For cabinets or interior walls, save for a gun with full pattern control and a safety listing.
Can it spray latex wall paint?
An 800 W HVLP gun can move thick paint, but at 1 gpm you must thin it and keep the gun moving. Test on cardboard first; unthinned latex will sputter.
Does it spray vertically as well as horizontally?
The listed spec gives only a horizontal pattern. If you need vertical fan control for walls or ceilings, check the nozzle before buying or pick a gun with adjustable patterns.
Is it safe to use indoors?
It has no NRTL listing, so use it in a ventilated area and keep it away from flammables. For indoor work, a certified gun is the safer choice.
What comes in the box?
The listing shows one piece: the spray gun with its 1.4 L cup. No extra nozzles or filters are listed, so confirm contents with the seller before ordering.
What do buyers say about the Hotree Electric HVLP Paint Sprayer Gun 800W?
Rated 3 out of 5 from 17 ratings.
