Is the HD screen a problem on a 17.3-inch laptop?

Yes, for many people. At 1366x768 on 17.3 inches, text and icons look soft and you get less on screen than a 1080p panel. It is fine for basic browsing but weak for detailed work.

Is this laptop good for gaming?

Only for light or older games. The Core i7 and 16 GB of RAM help, but integrated Intel graphics and an HD screen limit modern titles.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage later?

HP 17-series laptops typically have accessible memory slots and a service panel for the drive, but confirm the exact configuration before buying. The 1 TB SSD and 16 GB should cover most users for years.

Is it too heavy to carry around?

It is a desktop-replacement size. A 17.3-inch chassis usually weighs around 4.5 to 5 pounds or more, so it suits a bag carried occasionally, not daily commuting.

Is $899.99 a good price?

It is the only new price listed, at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. Judge it against other 17-inch i7 laptops with 16 GB and 1 TB.

What comes in the box?

Expect the laptop, a power adapter and paperwork. HP does not usually include a mouse or sleeve with this line.
