Is 64 GB of RAM overkill?

For web browsing, Office and streaming, yes. It helps if you run virtual machines, huge spreadsheets or many heavy apps at once. Most buyers would be fine with 16 GB.

Can the RAM or storage be upgraded later?

The 1 TB SSD can usually be swapped for a larger drive. The 64 GB of RAM is already at or near the maximum most laptops in this class support, so plan on keeping it.

Is the Core 5 120U fast enough?

It is a low-power chip built for everyday work, video calls and light editing. It is not meant for gaming or heavy video rendering.

How portable is a 17.3-inch laptop?

Not very. Expect roughly 5 pounds or more and a bag that fits a 17-inch screen. It works best as a desk machine you move occasionally.

Is $1,669 a good price?

Only one store lists it new at $1,669.00 as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. Check comparable 17-inch laptops with 16 to 32 GB of RAM before deciding.

What comes in the box?

Typically the laptop, a power adapter and paperwork. A mouse and sleeve are usually not included.

Our take on the HP CL27 17.3"

The HP CL27 is a 17.3-inch touchscreen laptop with an Intel Core 5 120U processor, 64 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, running Windows 11 Home. The big screen, backlit keyboard and unusually large memory make it a desktop-replacement machine for multitasking rather than a light travel laptop. Its best new price is $1,669.00 at Newegg as of November 7, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no recent price range to compare against.
