Our take on the Husqvarna ST 224 24 inch Two Stage 208cc Snow Blower 970468501

The Husqvarna ST 224 is a two-stage gas snow blower with a 24-inch clearing width and a 208cc engine. It has an electric start, so you don't have to pull a cord in the cold, and a two-stage auger-and-impeller setup that throws snow farther than single-stage machines. As of November 3, 2026, the best new price is $1,100 at Shop Gasper, with two stores listing it new. That price sits at the top of what this model has recently sold for, so it is not a bargain right now.

Best forHomeowners with driveways up to about 10 cars longRegions with regular snow and occasional deep driftsBuyers who want electric start without a batteryPeople replacing an aging single-stage blower
Pros
  • Two-stage design handles heavy, wet snow and drifts
  • Electric start avoids pull-cord frustration in freezing weather
  • 24-inch width clears a standard driveway in a few passes
  • 208cc engine is enough for most residential driveways
  • Steel auger housing and chute hold up to gravel and ice chunks
Cons
  • Gas engine needs fuel, oil changes and seasonal maintenance
  • Heavy and bulky to store and maneuver compared with single-stage units
  • No battery or cordless operation despite the cordless tag
  • At $1,100 it is priced high for a 24-inch two-stage model
  • Chute and speed controls are manual, not joystick or heated grips

Questions and answers

Is the Husqvarna ST 224 worth $1,100?
At $1,100 at Shop Gasper as of November 3, 2026, it is at the high end of its recent range. It is a solid two-stage machine, but comparable 24-inch blowers often sell for less, so wait for a drop unless you need it now.
Does the ST 224 have electric start?
Yes. It has a 120V electric start in addition to a recoil pull start, so you plug it in to start on cold mornings.
How does it compare with a single-stage blower?
The two-stage auger and impeller clear deep, wet snow and throw it farther. It is heavier and costs more than a single-stage unit, which suits light snow and small walkways.
What size driveway does a 24-inch blower handle?
A 24-inch cut is right for driveways up to roughly 10 cars long. Larger lots or long rural lanes are better served by a 28- or 30-inch model.
When is the ST 224 cheapest?
Snow blowers usually discount in late winter and early spring, and again during pre-season sales in early fall. Track the price history and buy below the recent low rather than at the current $1,100.
Where is the Husqvarna ST 224 24 inch Two Stage 208cc Snow Blower 970468501 cheapest?
At Shop Gasper, for $1,100.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Husqvarna ST 224 24 inch Two Stage 208cc Snow Blower 970468501?
6 stores we checked sell it, including Shop Gasper, American Arborist Supplies, Action Equipment Center, ennoki, Erie Power Equipment.
