Is the Hykolity Cruiser good for hills?

No. It has a single speed, so steep or long climbs are hard work. It suits flat streets, boardwalks and beach paths.

What size rider fits this bike?

The 26-inch frame and wheels fit most adults of average height. Shorter riders may find the reach long, so check the standover height before buying.

Is it hard to assemble?

Most cruisers like this arrive partly assembled and need the front wheel, handlebars, seat and pedals fitted. Basic tools are usually enough.

How does it compare with a multi-speed cruiser?

It is simpler and cheaper to maintain but far less versatile. A 3- or 7-speed cruiser handles hills and longer rides better for more money.

Is the steel frame a problem?

It is durable but heavier than aluminum. Expect to notice the weight when lifting it onto a rack or carrying it upstairs.

When is the best time to buy?

Cruisers often drop in price at the end of summer and during winter clearance. Compare the current price with its recent range before buying.

Our take on the Hykolity Cruiser Beach Bike

The Hykolity Cruiser is a single-speed beach cruiser with a steel frame, 26-inch wheels and 2.25-inch tires, finished in pastel pink. The swept frame, wide tires and one gear are built for flat, relaxed rides rather than speed or hills. It is a low-cost entry into cruiser riding, and no current price was provided, so check the latest price against its recent range before buying.
