Is the UPPLAND worth it?

If you want a wide, deep sofa with washable covers at around $999, it is a solid value. Expect particleboard construction rather than heirloom quality.

How does it compare to the Ektorp?

The UPPLAND shares the Ektorp silhouette but has deeper seats and a more embracing feel. It is the roomier, lounge-first option of the two.

Are the covers machine washable?

Yes. The polyester covers are removable and can be washed, which is the main reason families choose this sofa.

Will it fit through my door?

It ships flat and assembles in about 10 minutes, so check the box dimensions rather than the assembled 88 1/4-inch width. The assembled sofa is 36 1/4 inches deep and 36 1/4 inches high.

What is the seat height and depth?

Seat height is 18 1/2 inches and seat depth is 22 7/8 inches, with 68 1/8 inches of seat width. That depth suits lounging but is tall enough for most adults to stand up easily.

The lowest price seen since November 2, 2026 was $849, and the current $999 at ModeSens is the high end of that range. Watch for IKEA family or seasonal sales to get closer to $849.
