Questions and answers

Is the KingSpec P3-FB 2TB worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you need cheap 2TB capacity for a SATA-only machine. If your computer has an NVMe slot, a PCIe drive costs similar money and is several times faster.

How fast is it compared with an NVMe SSD?

KingSpec rates it at 560 MB/s sequential read, which is about the limit of the SATA III interface. Common NVMe drives reach 3,000 to 7,000 MB/s, so this is a capacity upgrade, not a speed upgrade.

Will it fit my laptop?

It fits any laptop or desktop with a standard 2.5-inch SATA drive bay and a SATA connection. Very thin laptops that use only M.2 slots will not take it.

What comes in the box?

Expect the bare 2.5-inch drive only. You supply the SATA cable and, for desktop mounting, a 2.5-inch bracket if your case needs one.

Is $179.99 a good price for 2TB?

At $179.99 at Newegg.com as of November 3, 2026, it is roughly in line with budget 2TB SATA drives. With only one store listing it new, watch for sales rather than expecting a lower competing price.

Where is the KingSpec P3-FB 2TB 2.5" SATA III Internal SSD cheapest?

At Newegg.com, for $179.99, as of our latest check.
