Is the Klutch KLiQ 20V reciprocating saw worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you already own Klutch 20V KLiQ batteries and want a light saw for pruning and small cutouts. If you are starting from zero, price in a battery and charger before comparing it with other brands.

What comes in the box?

The bare tool only. No battery, charger or blade is included, so you need a KLiQ 20V pack and a charger, plus a blade in the type you plan to cut.

Which batteries does it use?

It runs on Klutch 20V KLiQ batteries. Higher-capacity packs give longer runtime but add weight to a saw that is otherwise 2.9 lb.

Can it cut through tree limbs and PVC pipe?

Yes. With a wood or pruning blade, the 0.88 in stroke and 3,000 SPM handle limbs and plastic pipe. Expect slower cuts in thick hardwood than a full-size saw with a longer stroke.

How does it compare with a full-size reciprocating saw?

It is lighter and more compact but has a shorter stroke and no orbital action, so it cuts slower in demolition and metal work. It is a trim and cutout saw, not a replacement for a heavy-duty recip saw.

When is the best time to buy it?

Bare tools usually drop during holiday sales and store-wide tool events. Watch the price history and buy when it sits below its recent range, since battery deals rarely apply to bare tools.

Our take on the Klutch KLiQ 20V Brushless Compact Reciprocating Saw Bare Tool

The Klutch KLiQ 20V Brushless Compact Reciprocating Saw is a bare tool: no battery and no charger in the box. It runs on Klutch's 20V KLiQ batteries and uses a brushless motor rated at 3,000 strokes per minute with a 0.88 in stroke. At 2.9 lb it is one of the lighter cordless recip saws, which suits one-handed pruning and quick cutoffs. It is a budget-tier tool, so expect it to cost well under the big-name brushless saws, though you pay for batteries separately if you are not already on the KLiQ platform.
