Is the WORX 20V reciprocating saw worth it?

If you already own WORX 20V Power Share batteries, it is a low-cost way to add a light saw for pruning, PVC and light demolition. If you are starting from scratch, budget for a battery and charger, which can cost more than the saw.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

No. It is a bare tool. The box includes a wood blade, a steel blade and a bag, but no battery and no charger.

How thick can it cut?

The saw handles up to about 3/8 inch in steel with the right blade. Depth in wood depends on blade length; the included 9-inch blade sets the practical limit.

Which batteries does it use?

It runs on WORX 20V Power Share batteries, the same packs used across the WORX 20V tool line. Any Power Share 20V pack fits.

How does it compare with a corded reciprocating saw?

It is lighter and cord-free but less powerful. A corded saw with a longer stroke cuts faster in thick lumber and demolition; this one suits lighter, occasional work.

When is the price lowest?

At $76.45 at Lowe's as of November 4, 2026, it is the lowest of the 7 stores listing it new. Cordless bare tools often drop during spring and holiday sales, so watch those windows.

Pros

LED light illuminates the cutline in dim spaces
Includes both a wood blade and a steel blade
Shares batteries with other WORX 20V tools

Cons

2-amp motor and 3/4-inch stroke are modest for heavy demolition
3,000 SPM is fixed at the top end, not a high-performance orbital saw
Blade length, not the saw, limits cutting depth
