Our take on the Latex For Less Natural Latex Mattress

The Latex For Less Natural Latex Mattress is an all-latex bed with no polyurethane core, made with Sri Lankan latex, an organic cotton cover and organic wool on both sides. It is two-sided: medium on one face, firm on the other, so you can flip it to change feel. It is handcrafted to order in California and ships compressed with the layers already assembled. The Twin is listed at $1,099 at Latex For Less as of November 3; the brand's latex beds typically sit well below mainstream latex hybrids, and this model's price has been steady rather than discounted.

Questions and answers

Is the Latex For Less mattress worth it?
If you want an all-latex bed with no foam core and two firmness options, it is a strong value. Shoppers who prefer a soft, slow-sinking feel should look at memory foam instead.
How does it compare with a latex hybrid?
It has no coil or foam base, so it is denser and more supportive than most hybrids. Hybrids feel springier and cost less, but they use less latex.
Can I flip it to change firmness?
Yes. One side is medium and the other is firm, and the layers stay assembled when you flip it. Give it a few nights on each side before deciding.
Does it sleep hot?
It breathes better than foam-core beds because the latex is open-cell and the cover is cotton with wool. Most owners report a neutral sleep temperature.
What comes in the box?
The mattress arrives compressed with its layers already assembled, plus setup instructions. A foundation or slatted frame is sold separately.
When is it cheapest?
Latex For Less runs sales around holidays and major shopping events. The Twin was $1,099 at Latex For Less as of November 3.
