How long does it take to warm up?

Expect roughly 45 minutes to an hour for the wax to soften and start moving. It flows best after it has run for a while.

What bulb does it use?

It uses a 15 W incandescent bulb, the type the lamp was designed around. A cooler or lower-wattage LED may not get hot enough to move the wax.

Is it safe to leave on all day?

It is meant for decoration, not all-day use. The bulb and globe get warm, so run it for a few hours at a time and keep it away from curtains and paper.

It is 11.5 inches tall and about 4 inches wide, so it fits on a desk, shelf or nightstand.

Is $35.95 a good price?

That is the best new price across the two stores listing it as of November 5, 2026. With so few sellers, it rarely drops much below that.

Does it come with the base and bulb?

Yes. The box includes the glass globe, the aluminum base, and the bulb.

Our take on the Lava Lite Classic Lava Lamp - Pink

The Lava Lite Classic is the original-style lava lamp: an 11.5-inch glass globe of white wax in blue liquid on a round aluminum base, lit by a 15 W incandescent bulb. It plugs in, warms up over about an hour, and then the wax blobs rise and fall. Its best new price is $35.95 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, and only two stores list it new, so the price is easy to check and rarely discounted far below that.
