Our take on the Little Giant 22' Ladder

The Little Giant Velocity is an aluminum multi-position ladder that converts among 32 configurations: a 5' 6" stepladder, a 7' 1" to 22' extension ladder, and a stairway setup with a 13.2' reach. It carries a Type IA rating for 300 lb and weighs 38 lb, with wheels and a folding frame for moving and storing it. The best new price is $264.00 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, and four stores list it new.

Best forHomeowners who need one ladder for indoor and outdoor jobsPainters and contractors working on stairs and vaulted ceilingsOwners who want a Type IA 300 lb ladder without a rack of separate ladders
Pros
  • 32 positions cover stepladder, extension and stairway work
  • Type IA rating with a 300 lb capacity
  • Aluminum frame weighs 38 lb and folds to 5' 7" for storage
  • Built-in wheels help move it around a jobsite
  • Meets ANSI and OSHA standards
Cons
  • 38 lb is heavy to carry up stairs or onto a roof
  • Not non-conductive, so keep it away from live wiring
  • 22' reach is the maximum, not a working height for every task
  • Costs more than a basic fiberglass stepladder

Questions and answers

Is the Little Giant Velocity 22' worth it over a cheaper extension ladder?
If you work on stairs, high ceilings and uneven ground, the 32 positions justify the price. For simple roof access, a plain extension ladder costs less and weighs less.
How tall a ladder do I actually get?
The ladder adjusts from a 5' 6" stepladder to a 22' extension, with a 13.2' reach in stairway and stepladder modes. The 22' figure is the maximum reach, not a standing height.
Can one person set it up?
Yes, but at 38 lb it takes some effort. The wheels help with moving it, and the folding frame locks into each position.
Is it safe around electrical work?
No. The aluminum frame is conductive, so do not use it near live wiring. Choose a fiberglass ladder for electrical jobs.
What is included with the ladder?
The ladder ships assembled with its wheels and the pins and locks for the multi-position joints. Check the listing for any tray or accessory.
When is the price lowest?
Ladder prices tend to dip during spring and fall sales events. The best new price was $264.00 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, so compare against that.
Where is the Little Giant 22' Ladder cheapest?
At Walmart, for $264.00, 25% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Little Giant 22' Ladder?
Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 924 ratings.
Where can I buy the Little Giant 22' Ladder?
