Is this bed worth it compared with a veneer bed?

If you want solid oak and an included slatted base, it is a reasonable pick. A veneer bed costs less but will not have the same heft or repairability.

Do I need a box spring?

No. The frame includes slats, so a standard queen mattress can sit directly on them.

What size mattress fits?

A standard queen mattress. The frame is 85.04 in long, so allow room for that footprint plus clearance around the bed.

What is included in the box?

The frame, headboard and slats. The mattress is not included, since this is sold as frame only.

When is the best time to buy?

Watch the price history around major sales events, when furniture discounts are common. Compare the current price with its recent range before buying.
