Is the XA Pro 3D GTX v9 worth it at $170?

At $170 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a waterproof, protective trail shoe. Buy it if you value stability and durability over low weight.

How does it compare with the non-GTX XA Pro 3D v9?

The GTX version adds a GORE-TEX membrane for waterproofing, so it is warmer and slightly less breathable. The non-GTX model is better for dry, hot conditions.

Is it good for trail running or better for hiking?

It works for both, but at 13 oz per shoe and with high protection it leans toward hiking and technical day trips. Runners wanting speed should look lighter.

What drop and lugs does it have?

It has an 11 mm heel-to-toe drop and 3.5 mm lugs. That suits mixed terrain and moderate trails more than deep mud.

Does it fit wide feet?

It comes in regular width only, and the reinforced upper fits snugly. Shoppers with wide feet should size up or try it on first.

Trail shoes usually drop during end-of-season sales and around major shopping events. Watch the price history for dips below $170.
