Our take on the Mikasa Luxor 12-Piece Dinnerware Set

The Mikasa Luxor is a 12-piece stoneware set that serves four: four dinner plates, four 8-1/2 inch salad plates and four 23-ounce soup/cereal bowls. Each piece has a speckled reactive glaze, so no two look exactly alike, and the stoneware is chip-resistant, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. At $39.99 at mikasa.com as of November 4, 2026, it is about $10 per place setting, at the low end for a branded stoneware set.

Questions and answers

Is the Mikasa Luxor set worth it?
At $39.99 for 12 pieces, it is a low-cost way to get a full four-person stoneware set. If you want mugs or serving bowls, you will need to buy them separately.
Is it dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes. Mikasa lists every piece as dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
What is in the box?
Four dinner plates, four 8-1/2 inch salad plates and four 23-ounce soup/cereal bowls. No mugs or serving pieces are included.
Why does the glaze look different from the photos?
The reactive glaze and speckle effect vary from piece to piece, so slight color and pattern differences are normal.
How does it compare with porcelain sets?
Stoneware is thicker and heavier than porcelain and resists chipping well, but it is bulkier in the cabinet and less fine-looking for formal meals.
