Is the Modkat Top-Entry worth it?

If your cat jumps and you are fighting tracked litter, yes. The top entry and walk-off lid do real work. If your cat is a kitten, senior or reluctant jumper, a low-entry box is the safer buy.

Will my cat use a top-entry box?

Many cats adapt within a few days, especially if you start with the lid off or add a step. Cats with arthritis or very small kittens often will not. Keep the old box out until your cat is using this one.

How often do I replace the liner?

Modkat rates the Type-A reusable liner for about three months. Wash it when you scoop and swap it when it wears through. Buy spares so you are not caught without one.

What comes in the box?

One Modkat Top-Entry box, one Type-A reusable liner, a branded ball toy, and packaging that folds into a cat toy. Litter and scoop are not included.

How big is it, and how much litter does it hold?

It is 16 x 16 x 15 inches and weighs 6.5 lbs. Fill litter to a few inches deep, not to the top. The 30 lb figure is the lid's load rating, not a litter capacity.

When is the best time to buy?

It was $109.99 at WoodArtSupply as of November 5, 2026, the low end of its recent range across 5 stores. Watch for liner bundles, since liners are the ongoing cost.
