Is 15 mm quartz thick enough for a kitchen countertop?

It can work over full cabinet support or a substrate, but many fabricators recommend 20 mm or 30 mm for main kitchen runs. Ask your fabricator before ordering for a kitchen.

Does this quartz need sealing?

No. It is non-porous engineered quartz, so mild soap and water is enough and it does not need periodic sealing like marble.

Can I use it in a shower or on a floor?

Yes. MSI lists it for shower surrounds, accent walls and floors as well as countertops. Polished quartz can be slippery underfoot when wet, so consider a honed finish for floors.

Will the veining match between slabs?

No two cut pieces look the same because the veining is heavier. Lay out the island and main run on the slab before cutting so the pattern flows.

Is it cheaper than real Carrara marble?

Usually yes, and it needs less care. Real Carrara is porous and needs sealing; this quartz does not, though it gives up some of the natural depth of stone.

What is the best price for it?

$13.42 at ROK Hardware & Cabinets as of November 5, 2026, with 4 stores pricing it new. Check the unit and slab size before comparing, since listings differ.
