Is the Pura Max 2 worth $299.99?

At $299.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair price for a sensor-heavy automatic box with app tracking. It pays off most in multi-cat homes where scooping is constant.

How is it different from the original Pura Max?

Petkit calls this the 4th generation. It adds a leak-proof, scratch-resistant liner and keeps the never-closing entry with 7 infrared and 4 weight sensors.

How often do I have to empty it?

The 7L waste container holds up to 15 days of waste for one cat. Multi-cat homes will need to empty it more often.

Will it work for a senior or small cat?

Yes. The entry sits 7.9 inches off the floor and the drum is semi-enclosed, which suits senior cats and small breeds. Cats must weigh at least 3.3 lbs and be 6 months old.

What Wi-Fi does the app need?

Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The 5 GHz band will not connect.

What comes in the premium bundle?

The bundle adds a smart spray, odor dispeller, litter mat and sifter on top of the box itself.
