Is the Ping G440 Max fairway wood good for high handicappers?

Yes. The Max is Ping's most forgiving fairway head, with a larger profile and rear weight that keep ball speed up on mishits and help get the ball airborne. It suits players who want straight and high over workability.

How does the G440 Max differ from the standard G440 fairway?

The Max has a bigger, deeper head and more rearward weighting for higher launch and more forgiveness. The standard G440 is more compact and aimed at players who want a flatter, more workable flight.

What loft is this club?

This listing is the 7-wood at 21 degrees of loft, in left-handed with a stiff graphite shaft. Check the loft marking before you buy if you need a 3- or 5-wood instead.

Is $367.00 a good price for the G440 Max fairway wood?

It is the only new price listed, at Carl's Golfland as of November 7, 2026, so there is no cheaper new option to compare against. Ping fairway woods typically hold near full retail through the season and drop once the next line arrives.

Does it come with a headcover?

Our take on the Ping G440 Max Fairway Woods

The Ping G440 Max is Ping's most forgiving fairway wood, built for high launch and straight ball flight from the fairway or off the tee. The Max head is larger and deeper than Ping's standard G440 fairway, with a rear weight that pushes forgiveness and a face designed to hold ball speed on off-center hits. It is a left-handed, stiff-flex graphite model. The best new price is $367.00 at Carl's Golfland as of November 7, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to shop around for.
