Our take on the PVC Encased Hex Dumbbell Set of 2

A pair of hex-shaped dumbbells with metal plates encased in a PVC coating. The hex head keeps the weights from rolling and the PVC shell protects floors better than bare metal. At $165.29 at Target as of November 5, 2026, this is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is $165.29 a good price for this pair?
It is the only new price listed as of November 5, 2026, at Target, so there is nothing to compare it with. Check the price per pound against other hex pairs before buying.
Will the PVC coating damage my floors?
PVC is softer than bare metal and is the main reason to pick it. Dropping the dumbbells hard can still mark wood or crack the coating, so set them down rather than throw them.
Can I drop these dumbbells?
No. The PVC shell over metal plates can split or chip on impact. These suit controlled lifts, not drop sets onto a hard floor.
What weights come in the set?
The listing does not state the weight of each dumbbell. Confirm the per-dumbbell weight before ordering, since the pair price only makes sense once you know the pounds.
Do the hex heads really stop rolling?
Yes. The flat sides let the dumbbells rest in place on the floor or a rack, unlike round heads.
Where is the PVC Encased Hex Dumbbell Set of 2 cheapest?
At Target, for $165.29, as of our latest check.
