Is the Fontana Shag rug good for high-traffic areas?

Polypropylene is durable and stain-resistant, so it handles traffic reasonably well. The thick shag pile does flatten in walkways, so rotate the runner and vacuum it regularly.

Safavieh lists it as virtually non-shedding. Some loose fibers may appear in the first weeks, but the machine-woven synthetic pile sheds far less than wool shags.

Do I need a rug pad under it?

Yes. The retailer recommends a pad to stop the runner sliding and to protect hard floors. A pad also adds cushioning under the already thick pile.

How do I clean an ivory shag rug?

Vacuum without a beater bar, blot spills promptly with a mild detergent solution, and avoid soaking the pile. For deeper cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.

What sizes does the Fontana Shag FNT800A come in?

This listing is the 2'-3" x 8' runner. The FNT800A line is also sold in larger rectangular sizes, so check the size before ordering.
