Is the Encode Plus worth $284.97?

It is the only mainstream deadbolt with Apple home keys, so iPhone households get a feature nothing else matches. If you do not use Apple devices, a cheaper Wi-Fi or Z-Wave lock does most of the same job.

No. Wi-Fi is built in, so it connects directly to your router and to HomeKit, Alexa or Google Assistant without a bridge.

Which iPhones support home keys?

Apple home keys work on iPhone XS and later and on Apple Watch Series 4 and later, running current iOS or watchOS.

How long do the batteries last?

Schlage rates it at up to six months on four AA batteries, but heavy Wi-Fi use and frequent remote access shorten that. The app warns you before they die.

It replaces a standard single-cylinder deadbolt and fits doors 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches thick with a 2-1/8 inch bore. Check your backset, 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inches, before ordering.

Smart locks usually drop during Black Friday and Prime Day sales. Right now only one store lists it new at $284.97, so watch for a second seller or a holiday discount.

Our take on the Schlage Encode Plus 智能 Wi-Fi 锁

The Schlage Encode Plus is a Wi-Fi deadbolt that works with Apple HomeKit and supports Apple's home keys feature, letting compatible iPhones and Apple Watches unlock the door with a tap. It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and it has a built-in alarm and a keypad for codes. The best new price is $284.97 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new. That is near the top of what this lock has sold for, so it is not a bargain price.
