Is the 20 mil wear layer worth it over a 12 mil plank?

Yes for busy rooms. A 20 mil layer resists scuffs and wear far better than 12 mil and is the usual spec for commercial-grade vinyl. In a low-traffic bedroom the difference matters less.

How many cartons do I need for 200 sq. ft.?

Each carton covers 27.73 sq. ft., so 200 sq. ft. takes 8 cartons (221.8 sq. ft.) with waste allowance. That also meets the 200 sq. ft. minimum order.

Can it go over concrete or in a basement?

Yes. It is rated for above and below grade and floats over concrete, provided the slab is flat, dry and clean. A moisture test on the slab is still wise.

Does it need glue or underlayment?

No glue and no separate underlayment. The pad is attached and the planks lock together, so it floats directly over the subfloor.

How does it compare with rigid-core vinyl planks?

Anvil Plus 20 is thinner at 4.4 mm and more flexible, but its 20 mil wear layer is tougher than many rigid-core planks. Rigid-core feels firmer and hides subfloor imperfections better.

When is the price lowest?

Flooring prices move with promotions and carton quantity. The current best is $74.59 at Flooring Market as of November 4, 2026; compare per-square-foot cost across the 4 stores before ordering.
