Our take on the Shaw Pro Series Impact Plus Tattered Barnboard Luxury Vinyl Plank

The Shaw Pro Series Impact Plus is a 4 mm luxury vinyl plank with a Tattered Barnboard look and a built-in water-protection layer. It is a floating, click-together floor aimed at DIY installs in kitchens, basements and busy rooms. At $82.91 at Floors Center as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, and only two stores list it new, so stock is thin.

Pros
  • Water protection built into the plank
  • 4 mm thickness is thin and light, easy to cut and carry
  • Click-lock edges suit floating installs without glue
  • Barnboard finish hides scuffs and dirt well
  • Low entry price at $82.91
Cons
  • 4 mm is thin; it feels and sounds harder underfoot than thicker planks
  • Thin wear layer limits long-term durability in high-traffic areas
  • Only two stores list it new, so availability is limited
  • Weathered barnboard look is a strong style choice, not neutral

Questions and answers

Is the Shaw Pro Series Impact Plus worth it?
For a budget floating floor in a low-to-moderate traffic room, yes. If you need a floor for a busy main living area, a thicker plank with a heavier wear layer will last longer.
Is it waterproof?
It has water protection, so spills and damp mopping are fine. Standing water left at seams can still get under the planks, so wipe spills up.
Can I install it over concrete or tile?
Yes, as a floating floor over a flat, dry subfloor, including concrete and existing tile. Check that the surface is level and use an underlayment rated for moisture.
What is in the box?
Planks only. Underlayment, trim and transition pieces are sold separately, so budget for those.
When is it cheapest?
The current $82.91 at Floors Center as of November 4, 2026 is already at the low end of its recent range. With only two stores listing it, watch for clearance pricing as stock runs down.
Where is the Shaw Pro Series Impact Plus Tattered Barnboard Luxury Vinyl Plank cheapest?
