Questions and answers

Is the Shimano Intenza A worth it?
At $109.98 at Presleys Outdoors as of November 4, 2026, it is a reasonable buy for a fiberglass casting rod from a major brand. It suits general bass fishing more than specialized finesse work.
What reel pairs with this rod?
It is a casting rod, so pair it with a baitcast reel. A low-profile reel in the 6.5:1 to 7.5:1 gear range fits the medium-heavy power well.
Is fiberglass or graphite better here?
Fiberglass is more durable and forgiving, which helps with moving baits and fish that shake hooks. Graphite is lighter and more sensitive, so pick graphite if you fish soft plastics slowly.
What lures does a medium-heavy 7-foot casting rod handle?
It covers crankbaits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, topwater and lighter jigs. Very light finesse lures and heavy punching weights fall outside its sweet spot.
When is the price lowest?
The best new price seen is $109.98 at Presleys Outdoors as of November 4, 2026. Rod prices often dip during spring fishing sales and holiday promotions.
Where is the Shimano Intenza A Casting Rod cheapest?
At Presleys Outdoors, for $109.98, 42% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Shimano Intenza A Casting Rod?
13 stores we checked sell it, including Presleys Outdoors, Fish-Field, DICK'S Sporting Goods, eBay, Walmart.
