Does the Smeg Espresso Machine have a built-in grinder?

No. It takes pre-ground coffee in a reusable filter basket, so you need a separate grinder for fresh espresso.

How wide is it on the counter?

It is 13 inches wide, 13 inches tall and 6 inches deep, so it fits under most upper cabinets and on shallow counters.

Is $499.95 a good price?

It is the best new price across 3 stores as of November 8, 2026, but it sits near the top of the machine's recent range. Waiting for a sale is reasonable if you are not in a hurry.

Can it make two espressos at once?

No. It has a single brewing spout, so you pull one shot at a time.

Does it work with pods or capsules?

No. It uses ground coffee and a reusable filter, not pods.

Our take on the Smeg Espresso Machine

The Smeg Espresso Machine is a retro-styled 50s-look pump espresso maker in stainless steel, sold in black or silver. It uses a thermal block for fast heat-up, a reusable filter basket, a single brewing spout and a drip tray, with automatic shutdown. It has no built-in grinder and no app control, so you need a separate grinder. At $499.95 at Best Buy as of November 8, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent price range, so waiting for a drop makes sense if you are not set on the look.
