Is the Sony K-55XR50 worth $1,299.99?

Does it run Google TV?

Yes. It runs Google TV, which includes the Play Store, major streaming apps and Chromecast built in for casting from a phone or laptop.

What size is the screen?

It is a 55-inch screen with 4K resolution (3840x2160). Check your viewing distance and wall space before buying.

Is this a 2025 model?

Yes, the K-55XR50 is a 2025 release. That means current processing and features, but also a newer price with little discount history yet.

There is no price history yet, and only one store lists it new at $1,299.99 as of November 7, 2026. Watch for seasonal sales events, when new TVs typically get their first discounts.
