Our take on the Spectra Projection Vantage UST ALR CLR Projector Screen for Ultra Short Throw Projectors

The Spectra Projection Vantage UST is a fixed-frame 120-inch screen built for ultra short throw projectors in bright rooms. Its 0.5 gain gray ALR surface rejects ambient light and supports 4K, with a wide 150-degree viewing angle. The 64 lb aluminum frame mounts to the wall and ships with a free two-year extended warranty. It is a specialized home theater screen, not a general-purpose one.

Questions and answers

Is this screen worth it over a white screen?
If your room has windows or lamps you cannot fully control, yes. The 0.5 gain ALR surface rejects light and improves contrast, which a standard white screen cannot do. In a dark room the benefit is smaller.
What projector do I need for this screen?
It is designed only for ultra short throw projectors that sit close to the wall. Pair it with a bright UST model, since the 0.5 gain surface cuts brightness. Standard throw projectors will not work well with it.
How big is the 120-inch screen?
The viewable area is about 104.6 inches wide by 58.8 inches tall in 16:9. The fixed frame adds a border around that, so measure your wall before ordering.
Can I mount it on drywall?
At 64 lbs, it needs anchors into studs or a masonry wall. Plan for two people to lift and level the frame. A hollow drywall mount without studs is not safe.
What is in the box?
The screen comes as a fixed frame with the Vantage UST 0.5 gray surface and mounting hardware. A free two-year extended warranty is included.
When is the price lowest?
Projector screens like this tend to drop during home theater sales events and around major holidays. Check the price history before buying.
