Is the Cranston sofa good for a small apartment?

Yes. At 66 inches wide it is one of the smaller three-seat sofas you can buy, and the 38-inch depth still gives a decent seat. Measure your doorway and stairwell first, since a deep sofa can be awkward to move in.

Is it worth the price compared with a bigger brand-name sofa?

It is a budget sofa, so the savings come from a lighter frame and simpler cushion construction. If you need a couch for a few years in a rental or spare room, it makes sense. If you want something to last a decade of daily family use, spend more.

How many people does it seat?

Two adults sit comfortably and three fit tightly. The 66-inch width is closer to a loveseat-plus than a full three-seater.

Is the fabric easy to clean?

The solid fabric is standard upholstery, not performance fabric, so blot spills quickly and avoid scrubbing. The button tufting makes vacuuming crumbs out of the seams harder than on a smooth-back sofa.

Does it come assembled?

Most Three Posts sofas ship with the frame assembled and only the legs to attach, but check the listing for this model. Keep the box until you confirm all hardware is included.

When is the best time to buy it?

Wayfair discounts house-brand furniture most during major sale events and end-of-season clearances. Compare the current price against its recent history before buying.

Our take on the Three Posts Cranston Rolled Arm Sofa

The Cranston is a 66-inch rolled-arm sofa from Three Posts, a Wayfair house brand. It pairs a wood frame with solid fabric upholstery and button tufting, and at 66 inches wide it fits small living rooms, apartments and offices where a full-size couch won't. Its 38-inch depth gives it a roomier seat than most compact sofas. It is a budget-tier piece, so expect a lighter build than a name-brand sofa at twice the price.
