Is the CupFone worth it over a cheaper vent clip?

If you want a mount that doesn't block a vent or fall off in heat, the CupFone's cup holder base is more stable. A vent clip costs less but often wobbles and can block airflow.

Will it fit my phone in a case?

The cradle holds phones 2 3/8 to 3 3/8 inches wide and 9/16 inch deep. Slim cases usually fit; thick rugged cases and pop sockets may not.

Does it work in any car?

It fits standard round cup holders. Very shallow, square or oversized cup holders may not hold the base securely.

Does it charge the phone?

No. The CupFone is a holder only, with no built-in charging or cable routing, so you plug in your own cable.

The best new price was $29.98 at Rack Attack as of November 4, 2026, the low end of its recent range. Watch for holiday sales, when cup holder mounts often drop a few dollars.

Our take on the WeatherTech CupFone

The CupFone is a phone holder that drops into a car's cup holder and grips the phone with an adjustable cradle. It uses a short post, so the phone sits low and steady instead of swaying on a long arm. The cradle adjusts from 2 3/8 to 3 3/8 inches wide and 9/16 inch deep, which fits most phones, including many in cases. At $29.98 at Rack Attack as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with 6 stores selling it new.
