Is the Yamaha PAC112V good for beginners?

Yes. The 25.5-inch scale, comfortable neck and versatile pickups make it a strong first electric guitar. It is also sturdy enough to gig with as you improve.

How does the PAC112V differ from the PAC112J?

The 112V adds a push-pull coil split on the tone knob and an alder body, while the 112J uses a different body wood and simpler wiring. The 112V gives more tonal options.

Does the humbucker coil split work well?

The push-pull tone knob splits the bridge humbucker into a single coil, giving brighter, thinner tones. It is useful for funk and clean rhythm, though it is not a perfect single-coil substitute.

What is included in the box?

The guitar comes with a tremolo arm and basic documentation. A gig bag, cable and stand are usually not included, so budget for those separately.

Our take on the Yamaha PAC112V Pacifica

The Yamaha PAC112V Pacifica is a solid-body electric guitar with an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard, built in the versatile H/S/S pickup layout. Its bridge humbucker and two Alnico V single coils cover rock, blues and clean tones, and the push-pull tone knob splits the humbucker for single-coil sounds. The 25.5-inch scale and 13.75-inch radius make it a comfortable first serious guitar. At $379.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with 3 stores pricing it new.
