Our take on the Amazon Basics Adjustable Dumbbell, 25 lb, 5 Weights, Single Dumbbell, Black (Pack of 2)

The Amazon Basics Adjustable Dumbbell is a single steel dumbbell that adjusts from 5 to 25 lb in 5 lb steps using a dial-style collar and a plastic storage tray for the spare plates. The textured handle and protective plastic coating keep it comfortable and quiet on the floor, and the compact footprint suits small home gyms. At $66.14 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, the price sits at the low end of what this model has sold for recently, so it is a reasonable time to buy.

Questions and answers

Is the Amazon Basics adjustable dumbbell worth it?
For light strength work and small spaces, yes. It costs far less than a selectorized dumbbell and covers 5 to 25 lb, but it won't suit anyone pressing or rowing heavy.
Does the box include one dumbbell or two?
One dumbbell. The listing title says pack of 2, but the specs describe a single 25 lb dumbbell, so check the quantity before ordering if you need a pair.
How much weight can it hold?
25 lb per dumbbell, adjustable in 5 lb increments down to 5 lb. That is enough for curls, lateral raises and beginner presses, not for heavy compound lifts.
How does it compare to a Bowflex or PowerBlock adjustable dumbbell?
Those use pin or selectorized mechanisms and go much heavier, but cost several times more. The Amazon Basics model is a budget plate-and-collar design with a lower ceiling.
When is the best time to buy it?
At $66.14 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, it is near the low end of its recent range. Watch for Prime Day and Black Friday discounts if you can wait.
What comes in the box?
The dumbbell, its weight plates and a plastic storage tray. No stand or bench is included.
Where is the Amazon Basics Adjustable Dumbbell, 25 lb, 5 Weights, Single Dumbbell, Black (Pack of 2) cheapest?
At Amazon, for $66.14, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Amazon Basics Adjustable Dumbbell, 25 lb, 5 Weights, Single Dumbbell, Black (Pack of 2)?
