Is the PowerBlock Elite EXP worth it?

Yes for most home lifters. At $399 at Target as of November 3, 2026, it replaces many pairs of dumbbells and expands to 90 lbs per hand later, so it grows with you.

How does it compare with Bowflex adjustable dumbbells?

PowerBlock uses a steel block and pin and expands to 90 lbs per hand with kits. Bowflex SelectTech dials weights faster but tops out lower and has more plastic parts.

Can I expand past 50 lbs per hand?

Yes. Stage 2 takes each hand to 70 lbs and Stage 3 to 90 lbs. Both kits are sold separately and are not included in the base set.

What comes in the box?

A pair of dumbbells adjustable from 5 to 50 lbs per hand, plus the stand or base depending on the bundle. Expansion kits are not included.

How much space do they need?

Each dumbbell is roughly the size of a shoebox at 50 lbs, so a small corner or a stand works. They are far smaller than the 16 pairs they replace.

When is the price lowest?

Prices tend to dip during Black Friday and New Year sales. The current best is $399 at Target as of November 3, 2026, so compare against that before buying.
